“Earth Conquered”
Elements:
Distressed Earth is squeezed by a tightening rope; all is suspended on a thin copper golden base armature.
Narrative:
The sculpture is a meditation on the parasitic and transformative relationship between planet Earth and the biological forces it harbors. Over time, the life phenomena (represented by the DNA-like rope) that appeared on Earth increased the planet’s fragility. Human survival may depend on our ability to embark on another planet.
